Date: July 8th – Cost: $200
This is a full day trip to the windy City of Chicago home to world class architecture and the first skyscraper ever built. Take in a day of impressive historical architecture! First explore the home and studio of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. As time allows walk around the Oak Park neighborhood and see other incredible homes designed by Wright. After lunch at Lou Malnati’s Pizza where the “deep dish” style pizza was created we’ll head towards the skyline and downtown Chicago. We’ll stop at the “Bean” a weirdly captivating work of art. And then we’ll set sail on the Chicago River Architectural Cruise for a 90-minute cruise experiencing the skyline from a different angle of dizzying heights! It’s going to be a long day but a day of stunning visuals and spectacular views!
A word about the cost – even by our standards this is an expensive day trip. The majority of the cost is the coach expense. It’s a long day and gas prices have driven up the cost of coach rentals. However, as gas prices come down any savings the coach company passes on to Springfield Walks/Tours will be passed on to you.
